A.
Upon arriving in New Zealand for the first time with your current Residence Visa you will be issued with a Returning Residence Visa, this is valid for 2 years.

Q. What family members can I include in my application?
A.
The principal applicant, their partner (married or de facto relationship partner) and any dependant children they may have. Dependent children must be under the age of 25 years, be single with no children of their own and rely mainly on their family for their livelihood.

Q. Is there a maximum age limit for people wanting to apply for immigration?
A.
The Principal Applicant must be aged 54 years or younger to apply.

Q. What is the time in New Zealand?
A.
New Zealand is the first country to see each new day. Visit our Contact Us page to see what the time is right now in New Zealand.

Q. What is an IELTS and where can I get one from?
A.
IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. IELTS was chosen by the New Zealand Immigration Service because it is an international test that is available world-wide. Upon receiving your personalized Immigration Pack you will find information provided to direct you to the nearest IELTS centre. IELTS tests results must be less than 2 years old when you lodge your application.

Q. My qualifications require assessment by the NZQA, who is the NZQA?
A.
NZQA stands for New Zealand Qualifications Authority. The NZIS provide independent evaluations of overseas qualifications. An assessment of your qualifications generally takes approximately 12 weeks.

Q. What is the Skilled Migrant Category?
A.
The Skilled Migrant Category replaces the General Skills Category, and is one of the residence categories under the Skilled/Business Stream of the New Zealand Immigration Programme.

Under the Skilled Migrant Category, people must first submit an Expression of Interest in applying for residence, using the official Expression of Interest form which is included in your personalized NZ Immigration Pack.

Q. What is the difference between a Visa and a Permit?
A.
A permit endorsement in your passport allows you to be in New Zealand while a Visa is an endorsement in your passport that allows you to enter (or re-enter) New Zealand.

Q. How long will it take for the Immigration Service to process my application?
A.
This is a tough question to answer as processing times vary greatly with each branch of the NZIS and depends on staff work loads at the time your application is received. The NZIS target is approximately three months however we would advise you to be prepared for the assessment process to take up to 6-9 months.

Q. What is New Zealand Citizenship and when can I apply for that?
A.
Citizenship and Residency are quite different. As a resident you retain your country's citizenship, after you have resided in New Zealand for a certain number of years you may apply for New Zealand citizenship.

Q. What Is Your Refund Policy?
A.
Because each NZ Immigration Pack is personalized to meet your requirements and the costs incurred with international couriers, once you have received confirmation of your order (normally within 24 hours) we operate strictly on a No Refund Policy.

Q. Are my personal details safe with your company?
A.
NZ Immigration Packs will NOT solicit your email addresses or any other details you provide to us with any other persons and/or companies.

Q. Why do I have to supply my credit card billing address?
A.
NZ Immigration Packs are strong advocates for the prevention of credit card fraud. All credit card details including your billing address are checked to verify authenticity. This makes a stolen credit card or number worthless to a thief if they don’t know your billing address.

Q. Is my credit card information safe?
A.
By clicking into our Order Page you enter a secure order form. This means that any data you provide will be encrypted by our secure server, meaning only OUR server can read your details. Encryption results in the information you provide being scrambled in such a way that only our server can read it.

Our company uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) which is the leading industry standard for processing a secure transaction over the internet.

Q. How can I tell if your Order Page is secure?
A.
You can check to see if a document on your browser is from a secure server by checking the status of the security icon provided by your browser. For example, in Microsoft Internet Explorer a ‘padlock’ icon is shown while Netscape Navigator uses an icon in the lower left corner of the window which appears as a solid ‘key’ symbol.

Q. Do I need to have a job to be eligible in the Skilled Migrant Category?
A.
Although a skilled job offer is not a prerequisite, it is important to consider whether your skills are needed in New Zealand before you sell your home, leave your job and move to New Zealand.

Q. How does the new Expression of Interest submission work?
A.
Under the Skilled Migrant Category you must first submit an Expression of Interest (documents for this are included in your personalized Immigration Pack). If your Expression of Interest is submitted successfully it will be entered into the Expression of Interest Pool and priorities in terms of points claimed.

Those with the top points will be selected from the Pool and, following checking, will be formally sent an Invitation to Apply for residence. When a decision has been made, you will be notified by the NZIS.

Q. How long does my Expression of Interest stay in the Pool for?
A.
If your Expression of Interest is not selected from the Pool the first time, it will remain in the Pool for three months. If it is still unsuccessful, the NZIS will advise you that your Expression of Interest has been withdrawn from the Pool.

If no Pool selection of Expressions of Interest has occurred within the 3 month period that your Expression of Interest is in the Pool, it will remain there until such time as a selection from the Pool is made.
