The Business Categories Pack

Business Investor PackNew Zealand is a popular destination for successful individuals seeking to establish a business in New Zealand. Applicants have the opportunity to be granted New Zealand residency via a selection of business categories - Investor, Entrepreneur or Employees of Relocating Business.

To apply under the Investor Category an applicant must first submit an Expression of Interest to prove that they meet the key criteria. In summary, along with being able to demonstrate their intent, and have the ability, to sucessfully settle in and contribute to New Zealand - applicants must:

  • have at least NZ$2 million to invest in New Zealand and;
  • be under 55 years of age and;
  • have at least 5 years business experience and;
  • be healthy and of good character and;
  • meet a minimum standard of English
To apply under the Entrepreneur Category an applicant will need to:
  • have successfully established a business in New Zealand that is benefiting New Zealand and;
  • be healthy and of good character and;
  • meet a minimum standard of English and;
  • not have applied for or been granted social welfare benefits in New Zealand
The Employees of Relocating Businesses Category aims to promote New Zealand as a place in which to relocate businesses. New Zealand ImmigrationTo be considered under this category the owner(s) of the relocating business needs to prove to the NZIS that the business will:
  • operate in New Zealand and;
  • be of benefit to New Zealand and;
  • comply with all relevant employment and immigration laws within New Zealand
